Jesus' Gaze Comes First: How to Know We're Born for a Reason

Our life doesn't result from our own decision but from the decision of others who put us in a position to live and then to be able to decide. There's a gift that precedes us and is the foundation of every vocation, every choice, every great thing that affects our lives. -Luigi Maria Epicoco

Vocation is a free and conscious response to God’s gracious gift. The vocations we receive are visible signs of God’s affirmation of our Congregation and its mission. The abundance of vocations reflects the vibrancy of religious life within the Church and stands as a testament to the fruits of a flourishing spirituality.

Every member of our congregation should feel it their obligation to endeavour that candidates with the necessary talents and suitable qualities and genuine vocation are identified, encouraged and helped to dedicate themselves to a life of total commitment to Christ and to his Church in our congregation. Our concern in promoting vocations is one of the best ways of showing our appreciation for our religious and priestly call. (CMI D86)

At the start of each scholastic year, a team of vocation promoters is established for each district or region. Their efforts are coordinated by the Co-ordinator of Vocation Promotion of the Province, with support from the provincial council.

Once a candidate is identified, vocation promoters maintain personal contact and seek feedback from parish priests, catechists, teachers, and neighbours. Candidates interested in joining us are invited to participate in vocation camps held at suitable locations or within our communities. These camps offer candidates an opportunity to learn about our way of life, Charism, founder, spirituality, community dynamics, and apostolic mission. They also allow us to better understand each candidate’s personality, aptitude, and motivation. Candidates who meet the required criteria are then admitted to a year of Aspirancy.
