Christ Nivas, in Nowshera is the second institution in the sub-region. Nowshera is 113 km from Jammu. Christ Nivas is about half a kilometer away from town. Deacon Joseph Mukalel is the founder of the center. Staying in a rented house, he got to know the people of the area well, and in 1991, acquired an acre of land, the present location of the ashram and school. It also housed a health centre. The CMC sisters also co-operate in missionary activities by running the school, doing social work and visiting the village.
