t was with a view to filling the gap in higher education for aspiring students in the villages of Perambra, that the Mother Teresa College of Teacher Education was started. It was begun at the initiative of Advocate K. A. Devasya under the aegis of the Rural Education and Social Trust. The college started functioning as a B.Ed teacher training institute in 2006.
