As a source of income to maintain Devagiri College, 80 acres of land in Karnataka, 10 km away from Gundlupet town was purchased by St. Joseph’s Monastery in 1981. Fr. Thomas Kazhunnady was the first manager of the estate. The main yields were mango and coconut. After some years, the property was handed over to the province. Due to low rainfall and poor availability of water from other sources, the estate was not profitable for some years. The councillor for finance of the province is the current director.
