- CMI CHRIST SCHOOL, IRITTY
It was Fr. Joseph Mattathil who came up with the idea to start a school within the premises of the ashram. The idea became a reality with the inauguration of Christ School on 17th March 2002. The service of Fr. Vincent Madathiparambil and Fr. Thomas Purappanthanam helped the development of the school. In June2002, with Fr. Mathew Edakkara as principal, the school was opened to the first batch of 42 students of LKG. UKG started in 2003, Std I in 2004 and Std II to V in 2005.In response to the increase in admissions, a separate school building was constructed. On 25th May 2005, the foundation stone for a separate school building was laid by Fr. Francis Thonippara, the Provincial at that time, and was blessed by him on 7th November 2005. In 2007, CBSE granted affiliation to the school.
The first batch of Std X which consisted of 14 students completed their course in 2010 with high proficiency. On 13th July, 2009, Fr. Jojo Panthamackal was appointed principal of the school. The school is self financing and has 580 students, 25 faculty members and 5 non-teaching staff. It continues to provide quality and value-based education to the people of Iritty. The second phase construction of the school building is ongoing and is expected to be ready in 2012 in time for the next academic session.
