The lateFr.James Pallivathuckal was the founder. In 1973, a new five-acre plot was purchased on PinangodeRoad and a hospital building was constructed. Then it was a 13-bedded hospital with departments for General Medicine, GeneralSurgery and Gynaecology. The hospital was shifted to the present site on 3rd October, 1974. By then, it was a 50-bedded hospital. The Reverend Sisters of the FCCMananthavadi Province started their service in the hospital from July 1973.
